Collin County Ballet Theatre Directors
Born in Dallas, Kirt began his formal ballet training in Houston with the Margo Marshall School of Ballet. He is best known in the Dallas area as a principal figure at Dallas Ballet. As a soloist with Cincinnati Ballet and Houston Ballet and principal dancer with Ballet de Santiago, he is noted as a passionate and dynamic dancer. His travels as a guest artist have taken him throughout the US, Canada, and Central and South America. As an educator of dance, he has taught for various professional ballet companies. In 2001, Kirt and his wife Linda opened the Hathaway Academy of Ballet in Plano and established Collin County Ballet Theatre. Kirt continues to teach, direct, and choreograph original ballets for the North Texas community.
Linda received her early training in Denver under the instruction of Lillian Covillo and Friedman Parker with the Colorado Ballet. Upon graduating from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, she danced professionally with the Dallas Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Milwaukee Ballet. As a principal dancer with Lexington Ballet and Ballet Arkansas, she performed leading roles in a variety of classical ballets. Linda has also taught and performed with many regional ballet companies and is known for her wonderful ability to mentor children. She continues to share her passion for ballet by teaching the children of Collin County at the Hathaway Ballet Academy.
